Repair Services
Repair services or upgrades for PCs are charged at a labor rate of $50 per hour. There is a one-hour minimum on all repairs. At times, we offer unique codes that can be utilized to get a discount on this rate, so keep an eye out on our Facebook page when we are running these promotions!
If a computer is unable to be repaired, the labor rate will usually be prorated as a courtesy. I will do my best to repair all systems, but at times, some systems either have parts that are not repairable or not feasible to repair based on part costs. Unfortunately, many manufacturers do not offer repair parts, and it can be an issue of not being able to source a repair part, especially on laptops.
Local Purchases
If you are local to the Staunton, IL area and want to purchase one of the PCs that are listed in our shop, you can just send us a message on Facebook or through the service request form, and we can schedule a pickup and make the transaction with cash that way. It can save you the hassle of using an online payment if you don’t like to do business that way. I will still write up a receipt for your records and mine to cover warranty info and sales records.
New Custom PC Builds
New PC Builds are custom and unique, allowing each customer to identify exactly where they want to spend their budget on a PC build. Since the systems are unique to you, they do come with a 30% restocking fee if returned. We also require a purchase agreement and payment up front before the custom PC can be ordered and built. We do our best to order the parts and build the PCs quickly. Most of the time, the turnaround is 1-2 weeks after funds have cleared to us.
We charge a rate of about 10% of the price of the PC parts, with $100 minimum, for the build and setup of custom PCs. So a $200-$1000 PC would be a $100 charge, $1500 PC would be a $150 labor charge, $2000 PC would be $200, etc.
If you have issues with a custom PC system, please reach out and let us try and work out a way to make it right. We could maybe change a few parts out to make it work better for your needs if the first build is not quite perfect. And all new PCs continue to have a 90-day warranty on all original parts.
Used PCs & Electronic Sales
Our used PCs could be pieced together from other parts we have sourced, or could be a rebuild/upgrade of a trade-in. We always take our time doing thorough benchmarks and testing of all used systems before listing them for sale. For this reason, our used PC prices may be slightly higher than what you are finding on Facebook Marketplace from Bob down the street, but with the added benefit of you getting a PC you can count on that has been refurbished (many times with some new parts), cleaned, upgraded, and made as performant as possible.
Sales Tax on Purchases
As we are operating as a legal business, we must charge sales tax on all of our sales (both new & used). This is not something that can be bartered out of the price, unfortunately.
